This yoga class is taught by Mafe Rodrigo. Mafe first discovered yoga when in grad school at UW-Madison (WI). However, it was not until she moved to DC that she realized her transition to the “new city” became “easier” the more she embraced her yoga practice. After experiencing the benefits of yoga, Mafe was inspired to share them with other people and completed her 200 hr teacher training at Studio DC. A couple of years later she traveled to India and completed her 300 hr teacher training at Rishikesh Yog Peeth. She has continued deepening her yoga study with Kim Weeks in DC. As a yoga teacher, Mafe seeks to bring something for everyone encouraging students to link their on mat experiences with what they experience off of it. Mafe’s classes combine heat-building sequences and restorative stretches; her class style allows for all levels, including beginners, and she encourages everyone to surf his or her edge. “Yoga is what helps enhance and sharpen one’s capabilities.
