Pandemic programming: We currently offer adult and youth capoeira sessions outside in person following CDC guidelines and live on line via Zoom video conferencing.
We are located in some of the District’s most vibrant neighborhoods: Dupont Circle/U Street and Columbia Heights within walking distance of the Dupont Circle (Red line) and the U Street/Cardozo and Columbia Heights (Green line) metro stations. Free street parking is also available in the neighborhoods. In the summer Saturday classes are held in Dupont Circle Park or at the Brazilian-American Cultural Center.
The general schedule is as follows:
Mondays and Tuesday evenings: Adult and Youth Classes at 16th & O Streets
Wednesday mid-day: Adult all level classes in Columbia Heights/Park View
Wednesday evenings: Beginner Adult and Youth Classes in Columbia Heights/Park View
Thursday evening: Adult and Youth Classes + Adult Music Class in Columbia Heights/Park View
Saturday morning-afternoon: Adult and Youth Classes in Columbia Heights/Park View

FREE STREET PARKING IS AVAILABLE: DURING THE WEEK, PARKING OPENS ON 16TH STREET AND SHERMAN AVENUE AT 6:30 PM. PARKING IS THEREFORE EASILY AVAILABLE.

LOCATION
Capoeira classes are taught in three locations in the District:
16th - The gymnasium of the First Baptist Church of the City of Washington DC at 1328 16th St., N.W. (entrance is on O street between 16th and 17th Streets, through the glass doors next to the apartment building)
Sherman - Capoeira Barro Vermelho’s official headquarters located at the Brazilian-American Cultural Center in Columbia Heights at 3001 Sherman Ave., NW at the corner of Sherman Ave. & Columbia Rd. 9 minute walk from Columbia Heights Metro.
